Introducing the female character & crafting mechanics

Published on October 21, 2015

First of all we want to thank everyone for all the positive feedback we had on our first video. We didn't expect the amount of publicity it gave us and we will try to create more videos from now on!

The last couple of weeks have been very busy. As you may have noticed in our video you can now place a furnace in your house. Of course this furnace is not only a decorative object cause it now also has a function.

With the furnace you can smelt your ores and maybe cook some food. When you use a pickaxe to mine nodes you will get raw ore, this ore can be smelted into refined bars and with the bars you can craft various items like weapons and armor.

To fire the oven you need a fuel source like wood which can be gathered by cutting trees.

With the option to create refined bars we thought it would be the perfect timing to start creating the first crafting mechanics. In the screenshot below you'll see the professions window which will be the main interface for crafting items.

Every item requires certain materials and a minimum profession level to be able craft and some items require a recipe you must learn first, but this will probably be for the rare ones. We will cover the crafting mechanics some more in our next video.

Another thing we worked on is the female character! SamuTale is no longer a men's world ;) The female is already implemented although we do have to create some extra hairstyles and eyes.

Thanks for reading and if you have any questions or suggestions for SamuTale please visit our forum.
