Two weeks have passed and lot's of things happend to the world of SamuTale. With the inventory, chat and gear equipping finished (sort of). It's now time to show some basic combat like we promised.
Some of you may know we had a combat system in the past that was a bit like tab and spam your skills like you see in most MMO's. Together with the click movement it wasn't really dynamic and fun, so we thought it needed to change.
We removed the click-to-move system and replaced it with a WASD style movement which gives a lot more freedom as you can now strafe, jump, aim and move in any direction. Also the tab/click to target your enemy has been removed, and replaced it with a realtime Hack 'n Slash type of combat were you just hit what your sword or arrow touches.
We hope this will improve SamuTale a lot as it gives the players a more dynamic fight as you can dodge attacks by movement. You can check out the animated image below for an example, but please remember this is all work in progress.
Another thing we have worked on is the first prototype of realtime tree/plant growing (which will also be used for farming). Every interactable tree and plant in SamuTale will have it's own grow cycle. So in other words, you can gather herbs, fruits, cut down trees, but also replant them anywhere you like and watch them grow realtime.
